In July of this year, Expedia invested $350 Million in Traveloka to create Southeast Asia’s newest unicorn. Traveloka has also raised an additional of $150 million over the past year from other investors, including East Ventures, Hillhouse Capital Group, JD.com and Sequoia Capital. This means that Traveloka has gained market recognition and support from various established organisation.
Other than capital, Traveloka has also partnered with Expedia to add international hotel accommodation beyond Asia to its platform.
In overall, Traveloka ranked #7 as an online travel portal specializing in airlines/airports and hotels. The total visitors to Traveloka in the 3rd quarter of 2017 reached up to 92.99 million among the top 5 markets included Indonesia (64.31%), Vietnam(11.30%), Thailand(10.95%), Malaysia(7.74%), and Philippines(1.66%).
In Oct 2017, TPM proudly worked with Traveloka again to have this great opportunity to share this awesome platform to the Singapore market. Outdoor media advertising has 1.81% market shares on marketing mix. Advertising on one of our prime location – Hotel Boss, which is located in close proximity to Bugis Junction and the Arab Street eateries and cafes – places that are popular among tourists.
Additionally, Traveloka has caught the eye of investors from outside of the region, with Alibaba and Tencent among those taking a serious look at local startups.
